Midnight kiss from Micah
So here's what New Years Eve looks like with a 1 year old. Poor little guy is sick. Yep, it has to happen on the holidays... Anyway, currently he is snoring in the other room and coughing and blowing bubbles out of his nose. So sad!!!

So, I opted for New Years Eve in. That consists of the best takeout - Azul Tequila - yummyy~!! No cooking for me! A good bottle of wine to share with hubby (Chateauneuf - de - Pape) and of course a bottle of sparkling wine to open at New Years . I even bought these fun hibiscus flowers in a syrup to place in the bottom of the glass. Supposedly when you pour bubbly on it they open and look pretty (also they are edible). Since I was going all out (note to self: yeah I am lame! ), I also got some good cheeses and crackers and some fun dessert. Now, yes, normally french wine, goat cheese and gelato are not suggested in the lists of great pairings with even the best Mexican food, but, hey! It's my party, right.

We plan to begin our night with an assortment of Blu-Ray's from NetFlix such as Transformers, IronMan and Phantom of the Opera . And as if that is not exciting enough, we have matching family PJs to wear - all in penguins!

Now here's the challenge, hubby went hunting and on a guys trip and stayed up until 4:30 am then woke at 6:30 to hunt again. This was last night - so how many bets on him staying awake until 12am. My money's on him snoring at that time!! Then I will revert to chick flicks !

You can make fun of me if you like... but, to me --- it sounds like a recipe for the perfect New Years Eve! -- A great night at home with family! At least for now!!!

Next year, a ball, or New York , Paris .... or.... another night in - hey, home is where the heart is and I will have two special people to kiss when it turns midnight!!! What's not to love!

Hope yours was wonderful also!
The famous PJs!
